this was one of the first weeks where i felt normal in awhile. i wrote a lot, finally put out my monthly newsletter, was active, and was getting stuff done. something clicked in my mind today when i realized my thyroid probably, finally adjusted to my new dose.

i wrote last week's retro after dental work that monday morning. i'm happy to report that this monday did not cost me thousands of dollars or involve any needles or blood. just coffee and typing. also, i enumerated all of the weekly retro post titles. welcome to #26!

this morning i concluded the two-week dental crown journey (saga? off-screen dramedy?) so i sit at this half-done retro, gums swollen, lip numb and new tooth smooth. let's rock.

my week started with getting up early to go to the dentist and get a crown removed and the cavity under it taken care of. it was long, painful and very expensive! next week i get the permanent crown put in.

i'm writing this earlier than usual because monday morning i'm doing the first session of getting my crown replaced - when they they mold, remove and then put in a temporary tooth. the second session in a week or two is when they will be replacing the temporary with the new permanent crown. can you believe that a fake tooth costs about five hundred trillion dollars?

one of my aerial yoga instructors likes to start the class by setting an intention for us, often it's abstract but helpful reminders like "forgiveness" or "strength". i went into last week with the intention "do not be a big baby about the heat".

a brutal heat wave hit the city last week and i spent most of my time indoors, sluggish from the heat but restless from the confinement of my apartment walls. my new walking shoes sat on my table in its box, waiting with me for the relief of below 90 F temperatures.

this is my 20th weekly retro, and i've not missed a week. it's but one more streak along with my not having missed my meds. every morning i wake up at 8, take my thyroid hormone, feed pumagreg his "wet breakfast" and then go back to sleep. today, i'm starting a new streak of _not_ going back to sleep - to see if it gets me in bed earlier and rotting less in the morning.

i always blamed my preference for cold weather on my norwegian maternal side, everything just feels harder when it's hot. by the time i got to the lab to get my bloodwork done, i was drenched in sweat.
