weekly retro #88: disconnected but getting better
this week was one of those "do the bare minimum" kinds, where i'm feeling super disconnected because of a post-menstrual depressive episode. thanks to the work i've been doing at setting routines and saying "yes" to things, i had lots of things to do to try to reconnect with myself besides rotting on the couch.
i started a tech thought dump blog. i didn't think it would be appropriate to bring all of that into this kind of writing, but i always share when i blog elsewhere so it's not like i'm hiding anything.
i've really been enjoying doing weird web october, you can find all of apps so far on jennschiffer.com/www. weird web october has been such a good massage for my brain, and so has the fall season starting. i hate making candles in the summer, which explains why i've not created any new ones and instead used the time to really focus on pottery. now that it's not sweltering, i'm energized to melt wax.
i have a couple of small bins of my pottery from over the past year that i am going to start listing on bugs rock. i have a new slab of wax and some new candle dyes which i'm excited to test out and share in the shop as well.
pumagreg is also stoked because colder temperatures means it's heating pad season.
things i enjoyed this week
- dev lemons' corporate simulator for infowars was really good. i hope they have her do more of these.
- i was very moved by how dedicated dr. nowinsky - here on PTFO - is toward researching and curing CTE.
- i can't go through a depressive episode without giving a shout out to edibles lol
ok i'm feeling nice after a week of feeling really down, let's hope this lasts longer than i know the fall weather will. jamie's back in town, wordhack is this week, and hopefully my jack o'lantern makes it out of the glaze fire.
