weekly retro #82: my doctor said to sleep more

first of all, rip dolly parton and tim curry. what a blessing it was to have shared a planet with them even if for such a short time relative to how long humans have existed.

a photo of stockinged legs crossed with a hand holding a cigarrette captioned "- my idols are dead and my enemies are in power"

it's also a blessing to be able to go outside and do all my responsibilities independently. i don't take that for granted, but also i'm very tired of this heat and all the seemingly random thunderstorms.

the week started with a continuation of a cluster of robot karaoke shows and tech meetups. i woke up on monday exhausted, but fortunately with one night out left in me.

a photo of robot karaoke at wonderville and someone is singing pharmaceutical side effects to the tune of we didn't start the fire

jamie and i were back at wonderville that night, and it was a blast. shouts out to everyone who came and sang with us. i woke up the next day feeling hungover just from traveling back and forth to brooklyn 3 times in 72 hours. i needed a lot of rest and recovery for the next few days, i basically took the week off from lifting and stuck to treadmill workouts.

a photo of a bunch of ruined bisqueware and one piece is my wax melter with someones tea cup stuck to it

also hungover was one of the kilns in the ceramics studio. there was some sort of malfunction in one of their bisqueware fires that ruined every piece, 2 of which were mine: a wax melter and a spherical lidded vessel. this has never happened to me before, but still it's a reminder that you can't throw all your eggs into just the final product when it comes to pottery. you have to take in and enjoy the process as well, as it may be the only thing you have at the end.

i saw my endocrinologist, whose office now has valentines day and thanksgiving decorations? i've graduated to having such good thyroid levels that i don't need to see her for another 6 months which is great because the walk to that office is treacherous lol. the hard work i've been doing, staying hydrated and active, has been working. i just need to do a better job at getting enough sleep [jerk-off motion]

a photo of pumagreg, my black cat, giving a fist bump to andy

this cool guy, who other cool guy andy taught to give high fives for treats, makes it hard to sleep in. i figure this means i'll have to work on getting to bed earlier this week, boooooooo πŸ…

things i enjoyed this week

this week is my last ceramics class, i go back to my strength training, and i plan and begin said plans for a fresh new month. september will bring new routines and practices, and i guess a better sleep schedule.
