weekly retro: my last week with this one specific tooth

i'm writing this earlier than usual because monday morning i'm doing the first session of getting my crown replaced - when they they mold, remove and then put in a temporary tooth. the second session in a week or two is when they will be replacing the temporary with the new permanent crown. can you believe that a fake tooth costs about five hundred trillion dollars?

treadmill screen reflection selfie from my walking working out on monday

anyway, last week started with glitch shutting down. and then i started incorporating a little bit of running into my treadmill work now that i've got good shoes. i was also able to catch all three aerial yoga classes. i think i'm finally off my plateau with progress there. but as for the glitch shutdown, while i hate the outcome i'm glad it's finally done with on my end. i have more projects to move but it can be at my leisure.

a pink zinnia flower in a shrubby area. its petals are hot pink and their center has little orange blooms circling little white tubes

this is one of the craziest flowers i've ever seen in the united states. the longer i look at its center, i'm more convinced they are aliens. i think this is the flower i relate to the most.

photo of a 2/3-consumed almond croissant next to a 1/3-consumed almond milk iced latte

i hit a major milestone with bugs rock this week. we celebrated with a delicious sweet treat.

photo of a window of a liquor store. on the shelf is a realistic but fake cat sleeping and nuzzled it it is a small bottle of jameson whiskey.

is it legal for fake cats to look this real?

a blurry vertical selfie of me in shades and i'm awkwardly in the left corner and that's because i thought i was photographing in front of me and not in selfie mode

here's a selfie i took by accident when i thought i was actually photographing a weird tree in front of me that i wanted to text andy because it was blue prince-coded.

photo of me holding my bent arm up so you can see (upside down) my tattoos, one of a Kepler drawing of a satellites dodecahedron and below it a stamp that says “Program”. I’m in front of a paper source location and in the sky is a majestic pigeon flying in the bright sky

here's a selfie i took on purpose for live laugh webring member brianlovesworlds in front of the paper source location near where we used to host brooklyn js. our co-host jed had bought a "Program" stamp there to tag attendees but brian and i took it and got it tattooed on us.the most important part of this selfie, and the sole reason i'm sharing it with you even, is the majestic pigeon flying in the sky.

photo of a large classroom screen showing our robot karaoke interface. someone is singing "mad world" by gary jules but the lyrics come from glassdoor negative reviews. instead of the lyrics "mad world; enlarging you world; mad world" being sung the robot lyrics are "mad world; they promise the world; dog world"

i took that bird selfie while i was on my way to host a private robot karaoke session for a local non-profit that immerses neurodiverse students in technology. frank sinatra's "my way" with spider facts is now in my top favorite combos.

Photo of a book I bound and it’s open to a page that I’ve collaged a dog at a table of food kissing a dead fish. there are some cows and some mint, and some tissue paper tomatoes I haphazardly pasted. the magazine paper pasted text on the pages are “simply iconic” and “beautiful! pets welcome”

on saturday i had the 3rd installation of a 5-week book-binding workshop that the creative center of my local library is hosting. this weekend we did japanese stab binding. i made a collage book focused on tomatoes. i'll have an webpage soon for looking at my books, but you can see a video of me going through each page here.

things i enjoyed this week

  • two great tiny desk concerts dropped this week: wet leg and then, just two days later, clipse. as far as brothers on stage this week after a hiatus, i think pusha t and malice are far more interesting than liam and noel, respectfully! when they sampled their late mom talking, of course i cried.
  • i had a great time at our private robot karaoke event. and you can have a great time with us too at wonderville on monday night and then aux karaoke box on thursday night - both in brooklyn, both from 7-9pm.

if they don't match my new crown to its sibling crown, you'll hear me scream!

xoxo jenn
