weekly retro: another week of *not* eating the flowers

one of my aerial yoga instructors likes to start the class by setting an intention for us, often it's abstract but helpful reminders like "forgiveness" or "strength". i went into last week with the intention "do not be a big baby about the heat".

giving myself up to sweat - as well as, worse, the possibility of being perceived whilst sweating - is a lot easier when i realize that everyone else around me is in a similar state of discomfort. at the very least, i don't have to be in an office setting while sweating.

my hand petting a very cute little fluffy dog under my table in a cafe courtyard. the dog (not mine) is smiling up at me

one of my dearest friends, lisa, had the week off and we had a nice walk and chat at the cafe. we were rained on no fewer than 3 times, but the little dog chilling under our table didn't mind so i couldn't either.

a bunch of yellow day lillies that have scrunched up edges

i will not eat the flowers that look like they taste like buttered popcorn. i will NOT eat the flowers that look like they taste like buttered popcorn!!

a bunch of black-eyed susans in the park

i streamed a lot of the week, as tomorrow glitch.com shuts down project hosting. i compiled my official list of alternative hosts and let folks know i plan to start a new community code jam.

look at this asshole.

a large green shrub and there is one small cluster of what look like pink violets

i have some transactional emails to edit still, but i'm probably going to make bugs rock live tonight. i'm going for a soft launch because i literally have no idea how things are going to go once folks start buying things! i'm excited and terrified!

treadmill selfie as i'm early into my workout and i have it showing as if i were walking down a beach but the resolution is pretty crappy

pretending to be on vacation at the gym has me thinking i should actually go on vacation. lisa's fiance loves the rare time we travel because he gets to hang out with and take care of this goblin:

my black cat, pumagreg, rolled up on his green window blanket, chin up to the sky with teeth and toes out

things i enjoyed this week

  • i cannot for the life of me find a link to it, but in the latest issue of bon apetit there's a cheesy poblano and jalapeno pepper fajita that i made last night and it was a hit EXCEPT it would have been garbagino if i didn't add shredded and cumin-seasoned plant-based fillet to them.
  • i enjoy both joel haver's animations as well as his personal system of values that continues to sustain his artistic expression. i just find it super admirable.

after i publish this, i'll be doing the last stream before glitch shuts down project hosting, hopefully hanging upside down like a bat in tonight's aerial class, and deploying the last change to my store before it's officially open for business. i packed a lot into this monday - i hope you are feeling as full as i am right now, but not in an overwhelming way!
